Annual Book Sale

The Sale Begins: Monday, November 7th and continues through Wednesday, November 9th. The hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm each day. It is held in the Hiram Johnson State Office Building at 455 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, California. For details, call 415-703-1277.

History and Purpose: We hold our Annual Used Book Sale each year in the fall. The management and employees from both of the buildings where our centers are located participate actively in the sale. For many years, the sale was held in the outdoor plaza at the Public Utilities Commission Building and 505 Van Ness Avenue in downtown San Francisco at the Civic Center, where the C5 Infant-Toddler Center is located. In the fall of 2008, we began holding the sale two blocks away in the Great Hall of the Hiram Johnson State Office Building at 455 Golden Gate Avenue, where the C5 Preschool Center is located.

Our sales are always a great success. Many people contribute a wide range of books and other items; we sell a lot of books, CDs, DVDs, and VHS videos; people enjoy excellent choices for reasonable prices; and, we make some money for the program.

Proceeds from the book sale and other C5 fundraising activities go to support our family scholarship programs; sending staff members to Reggio Emilia, Italy; and, various ongoing program improvement projects.

You are invited to contribute items that you have to this year’s sale and to come browse and buy to help us to support the optimal learning and development of young children.
