Donate Goods

C5 can use all kinds of goods. You might have some suggestions of things that you can donate that you believe could enhance our program. They may be newly purchased, as many are based on wish lists in each classroom, or they may be used items in good shape for re-use.

All donated goods must be clean, organized, child friendly, and healthy-not inherently dangerous if intended for child use. Also, technology equipment and most other tools, equipment, and furniture should be fairly new and not require repair or significant upgrading to be useful.

We are happy to receive items from you. We can provide a letter of receipt for goods that you can use in your tax reporting.

Note: We cannot provide in the letter of receipt a value for the good(s) we receive from you. The estimation or calculation of the value is up to you and your tax adviser.

We also have a few initial suggestions for items you might consider donating. Here are some of them:

  • Paper, such as old letterhead when converting to a new one
  • Relatively new laptops. Some companies turn over about one third of their laptop inventory each year. C5 can be a recipient of those turned over.
  • Flashlights and new batteries
  • Shelving for books and binders
  • Flower vases
  • Digital cameras
  • Outdoor and indoor plants
  • Terrariums
  • Aquariums
  • Binoculars
  • Magnifying glasses
  • Microscopes
  • Child-size hand tools
  • Birdfeeders
  • Footstools
  • Throw pillows with washable covers
